About TNF
At The Nexus Festival, creativity is not confined to one discipline, one medium, or one way of thinking. It is a dynamic meeting point where emerging artists, storytellers, innovators, and creative professionals from across all artistic fields come together to connect, collaborate, and grow within a vibrant and supportive community.
The festival was created with a vision to bridge the gaps that often exist between creative industries by bringing together talents in fine art, music, film, animation, photography, fashion, design, digital media, performance, writing, and many other creative disciplines into one shared space. Rather than working in isolation, artists are encouraged to engage with diverse perspectives, exchange ideas, and discover new opportunities for collaboration that can inspire groundbreaking work and meaningful professional relationships.
At its core, The Nexus Festival is more than an event. It is a platform for creative development, visibility, and long-term career growth. Emerging creatives are given opportunities to showcase their work, gain industry exposure, build networks, and learn from fellow artists, professionals, and audiences who share a passion for creativity and innovation. Through exhibitions, screenings, performances, discussions, workshops, and social experiences, the festival nurtures an environment where creativity thrives and connections flourish.
We believe that the future of the creative industry lies in collaboration, interdisciplinarity, and community. In a world where art, technology, media, and storytelling are increasingly interconnected, creatives must be equipped not only with talent, but also with the relationships, confidence, and opportunities needed to sustain meaningful careers. The Nexus Festival exists to cultivate that ecosystem — a welcoming creative hub where emerging voices are celebrated, ideas are exchanged freely, and lasting partnerships are formed.
Whether you are an artist seeking inspiration, a creative professional looking to collaborate, or a visitor passionate about discovering fresh talent and innovative work, The Nexus Festival offers a space where creativity meets community, and where the next generation of creative careers can truly begin.
After years of brainstorming and piloting FRAMPS (Frames Per Second), The Nexus Festival was officially created in April 2026 by Michael Chidubem, a multi-media artist and animation lecturer. The festival is owned and managed by The Nexus Festival International Limited, which is duly registered in Nigeria with the company registration number (CRN) 9603269

The Visionary
Michael Ebere Chidubem is a multi-media creative artist who explores various artistic media and techniques to communicate messages often driven by hope, optimism, personal experiences, and a belief in positivism. Michael believes that regardless of one’s achievements and successes, there is still room for improvement and development. His most used slogan is "The best is yet to come".
Michael studied Fine Arts at Yaba College of Technology and later attended the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Creative Visual Arts. He also attended SAE Institute in Cape Town, South Africa, where he obtained qualifications in Animation, Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, and Electronic Music Production. Michael studied for his MTECH (Master of Technology) qualification at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. His research, titled “Formats for storytelling by caregivers for sharing knowledge in home-based health care”, focused on the use of storytelling and animation as a tool by caregivers to communicate care and administrative processes within home-based healthcare. He holds an honorary doctorate conferred on him in 2019 by Trinity International Bible University in Cape Town, South Africa, for his work with his missionary project, The Kingdom TV.
Michael was Programme Coordinator and animation lecturer at STADIO, a prestigious private higher education provider in Cape Town, South Africa, between December 2018 and January 2023. Michael joined the University of Brighton in January 2023 and was the animation Course leader. He initiated FRAMPS (Frames Per Second), which provides opportunities for creatives to meet, connect, showcase their work, find inspiration, and build meaningful networks in a fun and engaging environment.
The event has been held consecutively for four years, and although originally created for animation students, it has expanded to include participation from non-animation students.
Alongside lecturing, he is now focused on completing his PhD with the research titled “A FRAMEWORK FOR ONGOING ANIMATION CURRICULUM ADAPTATION IN RESPONSE TO RAPID TECHNOLOGICAL AND INDUSTRY CHANGES: AN ACTION DESIGN APPROACH.”
He is also a musician, a prolific bass player, and a recording artist with many releases to his credit. Michael is a Jazz lover and open to collaborations with other artists.
